Skills Assessments are around the corner! What you need to know.
What are Skills Assessments?
Skills assessments are NOT a tryout. Skills assessments are designed to evaluate players based on a point system that age appropriate for each division. Some categories include: hitting, running to first, throwing, fielding ground balls and pop-flies, and pitching.
Who does the evaluation?
Board members, division coaches, and assistant coaches evaluate each player.
Does my player have to attend skills assessments?
The answer is…it depends! 4U Division DOES NOT ATTEND skills assessments. ONLY 6U – 14U attend at designated times (to keep the lines moving) and on a designated date prior to the season draft.
What do we need to bring to assessments?
Your player will need their glove, bat, and helmet. If you do not have these items please visit the main concession stand or borrow from your neighbor or friends.
What happens if my player misses skills assessments?
Your player will go into “the hat” and after the draft coaches that need additional players will blindly select your player.
If you have any additional questions regarding the skills assessment please feel free to reach out to your division commissioner.
